MADISON, Ala.--Southern Convention Services (SCS) and Rocket City United (RCU) proudly announce a unique partnership. SCS has inked an agreement with the area’s minor league soccer team as Title Partner for 2010, which places the SCS logo on the front of RCU game jerseys. SCS President Bryan Boyd has also announced that SCS has acquired an ownership stake in Rocket City United and that the RCU corporate headquarters will move into SCS’ office complex on County Line Road in Madison.
Rocket City United’s third season begins this spring, and the team recently announced a move to Madison City School’s Stadium for its home games. RCU now joins forces with long-time Madison-based exhibit production and design company SCS as it looks to improve upon last season’s national semifinal appearance. Expectations for 2010 are high, as former U.S. National Team and World Cup player Desmond Armstrong was introduced as RCU’s Technical Director at a December press conference.
RCU and SCS will work with the Madison Chamber of Commerce and Madison City’s Department of Economic Development to turn the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) 2010 Final Four, hosted by RCU July 29th – 31st at the Madison City School’s Stadium, into a community event. SCS will also work with Rocket City United to develop training facilities and community soccer fields along County Line Road.
Said Boyd, "Southern Convention Services is excited about partnering with Rocket City United in Madison to promote the highest level of soccer locally. Madison will benefit from a successful soccer organization that not only promotes player development, but is also giving back to the community."
Rocket City United President Andy Zorovich is also excited about the venture: "I am thrilled by this new partnership with SCS and welcome them to the ownership team of Rocket City. With SCS’s background in event planning, RCU will bring an exciting fan experience to our home games and the NPSL Final Four. With the development of a future soccer facility near the current SCS location and the consolidation of our offices in Madison, we are well-positioned to achieve our goals of bringing attractive entertaining soccer, premier player development and community involvement to North Alabama."
