BUFFALO, NY-This year’s National Premier Soccer League Final Four in Madison, Alabama is going to be more than just a championship game. The entire weekend will to be an experience for the players and a lasting memory for fans.
Rocket City United is thrilled to have the opportunity to open their home stadium to all the NPSL fans, friends, and families for this exciting weekend.
The team and the staff have been working non-stop in order to produce a smooth-running Final Four Weekend.
“The staff that is working on the Final Four has been very positive and focused on making this a great event,” said Andy Zorovich, President of RCU.
Moving to a new stadium in December RCU has had their fair share of adjustments. Playing in a new home stadium can be quite tricky the first few games. The new stadium has served the team well, in this year’s regular season games, RCU won the first two and tied two.
“We moved into a stadium that is located directly in our target demographic, so we have had increased numbers at our games. There is more involvement from the fans with horns, noisemakers and cheering...more overall fun,” said Zorovich.
The atmosphere at a soccer match is never complete without cheering fans and the smell of a concession stand. No fear, RCU has both. Rocket City is very fortunate to have a supportive community and fan base in Alabama.
“Both the City of Madison and the Madison Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce and Visitors and Convention Bureau have been involved in the organization and the promotion of the tournament on a quite regular basis,” said Zorovich.
While attending the games in Madison,if the smell of the concession stand entices you, Zorovich recommends a piece of Tommy’s Pizza, it’s a piece of New York, while still enjoying the Final Four in Alabama.
One of the major events that will be taking place is the NPSL Pro-Combine. This is an opportunity for any soccer player wanting to continue in their soccer career. The Pro-Combine is one of the perks for NPSL member clubs and is FREE for any member of the NPSL All-Star team.
For Zorovich, having a high technical ability along with the eyes anding brain for the game is essential for a soccer player. The Combine is a great opportunity for all the new players to show their talent and athleticism to the teams and scouts that will be at the Final Four Game this year.
To all the fans, families, friends, and guests, while in the Madison/Huntsville area, there are a myriad of opportunities to experience what Huntsville and Madison have to offer.
Just a few things Zorovich recommends this time of year, “Our area is the home to NASA’s rocket center, hence the name, Rocket City United, so the NASA Space and Rocket Center is a must for visitors. Bridge Street Towne Center has great shopping, dining, movies, bowling, bars, etc. For more natural beauty, Monte Sano Park, at the top of Monte Sano mountain (about 1500 ft above sea level) provides a beautiful view of the Tennessee Valley.”
The 2010 NPSL Final Four is only a few short weeks away, but already the event is shaping up to be the best in the league's history.
